Holiday Schedule and School Closures
The Kaizen School operates From August to May and closes throughout the year for professional development and for holidays.

Our holiday schedule and school closure will be published each year by January 15th. We are closed for most national holidays. We strive to have all these holidays and closings coincide with the Decatur Public School District schedule, except for the staff development days, which are coordinated with state and national early childhood conferences. We respect each family’s holiday traditions as well as those who choose not to celebrate holidays at all. We welcome and encourage families to come in and share with the rest of the school what holidays they celebrate and why.

Summer Camp

The Kaizen School closes for the summer and has teamed up with another school to offer an enriching summer camp experience. This program is sure to bring your child a summer full of discovery, fun, and friendship! Campers will spend their days exploring the outdoor classrooms, engaging in learning activities, and playing in nature. Details for 2023 will be provided by March 2023.
